Dhanya Bhaskar is deeply interested in teaching and researching sustainability from the ecological perspective. Since 2006, Dhanya has been involved in interdisciplinary research on forest/ agricultural ecosystems and has done pioneering work on fig trees in human dominated landscapes of Southern Karnataka. Prior to joining IIFM, Dhanya had worked with Azim Premji University, Bangalore and University of Agricultural sciences, Raichur, Karnataka as Assistant Professor where she was actively involved in teaching, research, practice and extension activities. Dhanya is the recipient of Young Fellowship of Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore and Junior and Senior Research Fellowships of the University Grants Commission. She has also been awarded Merit Scholarship of Government of Kerala for pre-degree, graduate and postgraduate studies.
