Management Development Programmes (MDPs) / Trainings
Management Development Programmes (MDPs) / Trainings have been an important constituent of IIFM’s envision of continuous learning. Since its inception, the institute has continuously offered diversified action-oriented MDPs to practicing managers, foresters and policy makers in India and other Asian countries.
The 29 faculty member team at IIFM, grouped in nine multidisciplinary faculty areas help provides unique learning opportunity for professionals working in natural resource management. MDPs are carefully designed by the faculty to help develop insights on contemporary issues in the fields of forestry, environment, wildlife, livelihoods, natural resource management and allied sectors. A mix of pedagogical tools like case discussions, field exercises, group exercises, role plays, lecture-cum-discussions, experience-sharing and presentations by participants are matched with profile of participants and objectives of individual programme – leading to mutual learning among participants.
Over the past 30 years, IIFM has had high-quality response to its MDP programmes from government, non-government and forest-based industries. These programmes are conducted as:
- Open programmes based on faculty research and expertise across various disciplines of management spread over short (3 to 5 days) and long (2 to 3 weeks) duration.
- Tailor-made programmes customized to meet specific needs of project or client organizations.
These programmes can be conducted as follows:
- In-campus programmes at the institute.
- Off-campus programmes at identified / designated location / venue identified by the client
