The Career Development Cell (CDC) at the Indian Institute of Forest Management (IIFM), Bhopal, serves as a vital bridge between academic learning and professional growth. Driven by principles of fairness and transparency, the CDC develops skilled Management and Development professionals focused on Forestry and Sustainability who are prepared to contribute across diverse sectors.

The following information highlights the CDC’s role and structure for external stakeholders and potential recruiters:

Core Objectives and Responsibilities

The CDC is mandated to manage all aspects of student professional development and recruitment, including:

Recruitment Management: Coordinating Summer Internships, Project Work/Industrial Project and Final Placements.
Employability Enhancement: Organizing masterclasses, industry expert talks, enhanced competency training, alumni mentorship, and sector-specific workshops to equip students with cutting-edge skills.

The Placement Process for Recruiters

The CDC facilitates a streamlined, stepwise recruitment journey:
Engagement: The cell reaches out to organizations to invite Job Descriptions (JD) and schedule Pre-Placement Talks.
Slot-Based Scheduling: To accommodate a large number of recruiters and minimize academic clashes, hiring processes are organized on a slot basis in both physical and online modes.
Support Services: The CDC, assisted by the Student Placement Committee, manages recruiter databases, prepares promotional content, and handles all logistical documentation.

Professional Standards

IIFM maintains high professional values to ensure recruiters interact with disciplined and prepared candidates:
One Student, One Offer: The institute generally follows "one student, one offer" policy for all campus and off-campus placements.
Professional Conduct: Students are required to wear formal business attire and maintain high standards of etiquette during all interactions.
Code of Ethics: The use of AI in selection assignments is prohibited unless recruiter allows, and students are encouraged to remain with their recruiting organization for at least 1–2 years to maintain the institution's brand integrity.
