The project work programme is for  8 weeks (2 credits) during which students are attached to various organisations to pursue academic research, industrial projects, or creation or evaluation of interventions. The project should be guided by a clear problem statement.  The project work component aims at providing first-hand experience of  practical aspects and application of theoretical concepts and frameworks on the ground.  Students are mentored  by an organizational supervisor along with an IIFM faculty member. In addition to the organisational evaluation of the students' performance, the report and presentation from the work shall be evaluated by a panel of examiners (faculty mentor and evaluator) from the Institute. A research paper is also to be submitted on completion of the project work; the best among these are selected for compilation and publication by IIFM.
