Formal Invitation and Registration: The process begins with the IIFM Placement Cell sending formal invitations to organizations. Interested recruiters can also initiate contact by expressing interest via email (head_placement_cdc[at]iifmbhopal[dot]edu[dot]in, placement[at]iifmbhopal[dot]edu[dot]in)
Pre-Placement Talk (PPT): Organizations are invited to conduct a PPT (physical or virtual) to introduce their organization, job roles, career growth paths, and compensation packages. This is a vital step for students to understand the company culture and for recruiters to build brand presence on campus.
Job Description (JD) Submission: Recruiters must submit a detailed Job Description, including the designation, sector, location, and the specific MBA specialization (Forestry Management or Sustainability Management) they are targeting. Invitation contains a participation form, which collects JD information in the structured way, which applicants are looking for.
Student Shortlisting: Based on the JD, the Placement Cell provides the resumes/Profile summary of interested and eligible candidates. Recruiters can then shortlist students based on academic performance, previous work experience, and their specific "Fieldwork" or "Summer Internship" projects.
Placement Calendar and Slots: Recruitment usually follows a "Rolling" or "Slot-based" system.
Selection Rounds: Recruiters can conduct multiple rounds of selection, including Group Discussions (GD), Case Study Analysis, and Personal Interviews (PI). The institute provides full logistical support to students, including interview cabins and video conferencing facilities.
Summer and Winter Internships: Recruiters can also hire for the mandatory 10-week Summer Internship (April–June) or the Winter Project. These internships often serve as a "trial period," leading to Pre-Placement Offers (PPOs) for high-performing students. There are different Coordinating teams for Summer Internships and Winter Projects.
Transparent Offer Process: Once the selection process is complete, the company is required to announce the final results or hand over the offer letters to the Placement Cell. To maintain fairness, IIFM generally follows a "One Student, One Job" policy; once a student accepts an offer, they are generally withdrawn from further placement activities.
Early Joining/PPO Provisions: For students who receive PPOs during their internships and accepts it, the institute allows for an early "locking" of the candidate, ensuring the organization secures the talent well before the final placement season begins.
Onboarding Support: After the selection, the Placement Cell coordinates with the HR teams for medical checks, background verifications, and final joining dates (usually in April/May after the completion of the second-year final examinations).
