Dr Bhaskar Sinha is currently working as Associate Professor and Chairperson, Centre for Climate Change Studies at IIFM, Bhopal. He completed his Ph.D. from JNU, New Delhi and has more than fifteen years of experience in interdisciplinary research, consultancy and teaching on issues related to climate change, adaptation and mitigation, sustainability, integrated natural resource management, biodiversity conservation & livelihood, and interface between social and ecological issues.
Dr Sinha has completed more than 25 research/consultancy projects and training programmes with the support of national and international agencies including UNDP, GIZ, MoRD, MoEF&CC, DST, DBT, GoMP, World Bank-WWF Alliance, Solidaridad, Forest PLUS, HCL Foundation on various contemporary issues related to Climate Change, Sustainability and Natural Resource Management. In addition, he has also supervised seven Ph.D./M.Phil. scholars in related area.
He has authored more than 50 papers in national and international journals of repute including four books and was associated as one of the expert reviewers to provide comments on the First Order Draft of the Working Group III (Mitigation to Climate Change) Contribution to the IPCC AR6 report. For his rich academic contributions, he is also serving as one of the Research Advisors at Nan Yang Academy of Science, Singapore and as a subject expert at Madhay Pradesh State REDD+ cell.
